Famed pro wrestler Verne Gagne, the father of my beloved
According to local media sources, the geriatric grappler has been battling dementia and Alzheimer’s for the past couple years. While in this state, he’s been relegated to an assisted living community in
He had a history with the patient. According to one account, he had applied the Gagne sleeper on this 97-year-old before workers were able to extract the former heavyweight champion. No one knows what provoked the most-recent incident, and Gagne is not expected to be charged with any crime.

"...he somehow was able to return to the facility." Sure. If you were a geezer contemplating assisted living would you rather live in the same place as the dude who invented the Sleeper, or in some place with guys playing checkers all day? He puts asses in the seats. The number and quality of matches we saw at the Auditorium, if you think about it, is pretty amazing. We saw em all. If you haven't already, go see The Wrestler.
Maybe the 97 year-old double-crossed him earlier in the imaginary tag-team match?
The 97 year-old German's name was Helmut. Must of thought he was Baron Von Raschke.
What was Baron Von Raschke's signature move? The Lobster Claw?? ESPN Classic has been running a lot of old AWA bouts. None from 1980 Milwaukee Auditorium, that I've seen.

"the Claw"...sometimes referred to as the "brain claw" or the "lobster claw".
I love this interview. He refers to the "Final Solution". Don't think that would go over too well these days.
